How we think about design
Good residential design is not a style. It is a response to the land, to the light, to the way a family actually moves through a home across a day. We design for passive comfort first: cross-ventilation, solar orientation, thermal mass. Then we refine. Every detail joinery, material, threshold earns its place.
Architecture shaped by place
Meridian Studio was founded in Sydney in 2012 by Oliver Croft. What began as a small practice focused on adaptive residential work has grown into a studio of twelve architects, interior designers, and project managers who share a single conviction: that good architecture begins with listening.
We work closely with each client from the first site visit to the final hand-over. Our process is unhurried and collaborative. We ask questions most architects skip. We draw slowly. We test ideas against the realities of your site its orientation, its views, the way light moves through it across the day before we commit to a single line.
Today, Meridian operates across New South Wales and Queensland, completing residential projects of every scale. We are registered architects, members of the AIA, and committed to passive design principles that reduce long-term energy demand without sacrificing comfort or beauty.
